BALANCING HORMONES Deeper Into Jing and Shen (5 weeks)
This seminar is designed for the next step in using CHM for those who have taken the Six Module Course or have experience using herb formulas.
We speak to the common clinical presentation of hormonal imbalance. Weather it is during the reproductive years of a woman or during her pause in life. Chinese medicine understands this issue as an imbalance of Jing and Shen. You will learn how to differentiate patterns of hormone disruption both through the body and how it affects the Spirit of the women. You will learn herbal formula, diet, lifestyle, essential oils for the Shen and acquire a deep connection to the 5 Spirits.
FUNDAMENTALS OF CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE (10 weeks)
The Fundamentals of CHM is designed for those practitioners who come from medical paradigms other than TCM. This level of study includes four segments. Segment one gives foundational medical concepts of Chinese Medicine; differential patterns of the vital substances, combinations of yin/yang theory, climatic pathogenic factors. Segment two is an overview of the history of Chinese herbal medicine, nomenclatures of Chinese herbs, growing /harvesting and preparation/processing of Chinese herbs, side effects and interactions. Segment three provides understanding the matrix of the Chinese herbal materia medica covering classification and therapeutic categories including two herb monograms from each category. Segment fourth covers the major patterns of the Zang Fu (the five Yin and coupled Yang organs) including etiology, pathology, acupuncture and herbal formulas for treatment.
